Brian X. Tierney was named a senior managing director and global head of infrastructure portfolio operations and asset management at Blackstone Group, a spokeswoman confirmed in an email.
He replaces Steve Bolze, who will retire from the position and become an executive adviser to Blackstone Infrastructure Partners in the fourth quarter.
Mr. Tierney will help the portfolio companies within Blackstone's $14 billion infrastructure fund with their growth efforts. He will report to Sean Klimczak, global head of infrastructure.
Mr. Tierney was executive vice president and chief financial officer of American Electric Power.
