Limin Wang has joined Blackstone Group's alternative asset management group in the new position of managing director on its quantitative research team, spokeswoman Paula Chirhart said in an email.
Mr. Wang, whose duties include portfolio construction and quantitative research, is a member of a Blackstone Alternative Asset Management research team that also includes Yan Gu, managing director and head of quantitative research, and Jamey Thompson, managing director and head of systematic investing.
He previously managed quantitative portfolios for hedge fund manager Laurion Capital Management. Jason Riesel, chief compliance officer at Laurion, could not be reached for comment about Mr. Wang's replacement.
