Blackstone Group closed its latest secondary market infrastructure fund, Strategic Partners Infrastructure III, with $3.75 billion, more than double the capital raised for its predecessor fund, which closed in 2018, spokesman David Vitek said in an email.
The earlier fund, Blackstone's Strategic Partners Real Assets II, also an infrastructure-focused secondary market fund closed at its $1.75 billion hard cap.
The new fund is the world's largest pool of capital dedicated to infrastructure secondaries, Mr. Vitek said.
Investors in the fund include the $50.6 billion Illinois Teachers' Retirement System, Springfield.
