Ram Jagannath was named senior managing director in the growth equity platform at Blackstone Group, a spokesman confirmed.
It is a new position in the alternative money manager's growth equity platform, which was launched in January. Mr. Jagannath leads health-care investing for the business and reports to Jon Korngold, senior managing director and head of the growth equity platform.
Mr. Ragannath was previously a partner at Navab Capital Partners, where he was head of health care. Navab Capital Partners is winding down following the death of the firm's founder, Alexander Navab, in July.
Blackstone Group has $545 billion in assets under management.
