David Ben-Ur was named CIO of hedge funds solutions and Atish Nigam was named CIO of special situations at Blackstone Alternative Asset Management, said Paula Chirhart, spokeswoman.
Mr. Ben-Ur replaces Gideon Berger, a senior managing director and co-CIO of hedge fund solutions, who left Blackstone in May, Ms. Chirhart said. Mr. Nigam will replace Min Htoo, who is a senior managing director and head of the hedge funds solutions special situations investing group. Mr. Htoo plans to leave Blackstone at the end of 2021.
Blackstone also announced it had agreed to manage the assets of CAM Capital, the family office of hedge fund Caxton Associates founder Bruce Kovner. Mr. Ben-Ur had been CIO of CAM Capital and will continue to manage the family office assets.
Mr. Nigam was a senior analyst at hedge fund Appaloosa Management.
