Ann Chung was named a managing director in Blackstone Group's year-old growth equity investment business, said Matt Anderson, spokesman.
It is a new position
Blackstone launched the business, known as BXG, last year. It is led by Jon Korngold, a senior managing director.
Mr. Korngold in a news release touted Ms. Chung's "excellent track record and deep experience" investing in companies in the consumer sector.
"We're excited to welcome her to the Blackstone Growth team given how important consumer-facing businesses are to our firm," he said.
Previously, Ms. Chung was a principal at Fremont Group, the family office for the Bechtel family.
