Douglas Doughty has joined Bain Capital as a managing director in the alternative investment firm's real estate business, said a Bain spokesman in an email.
Mr. Doughty will be working with Bain Real Estate's senior team on key strategic growth initiatives and investments. He had been managing director, head of strategy and special situations with Fortress Investment Group's real estate business.
Fortress spokesman Gordon Runte could not be immediately reached for information on Mr. Doughty's replacement.
In May, Mubadala Investment Company announced that it was acquiring a 90% interest in Fortress Investment Group that was owned by SoftBank Group.
Bain's real estate business has about $7.5 billion in assets under management. Bain managed $165 billion of assets under management as of Dec. 31.
