Arena Financial Services hired three managing directors of business development.
Deborah Pederson, David J. Rothenberg and Mario T. Colella are based in New York and are responsible for global marketing of Arena's asset-backed special situations strategy, said Parag Shah, managing director and head of marketing, in an interview.
Arena is expanding its marketing team because "the company has been doing well and assets under management are growing," Mr. Shah said. Arena Financial is a subsidiary of Arena Global Investors Group, a private credit manager.
Ms. Pederson was managing director and portfolio specialist at Varde Partners. Andrea Raphael, Varde managing director, declined to comment regarding Ms. Pederson’s replacement.
Mr. Rothenberg joined Arena from Ripcord Partners where he was founding partner, director and head of business development. Daniel C. Katzner, senior director at Ripcord, said in an interview that the firm is searching now for a replacement for Mr. Rothenberg and has several candidates in mind.
Mr. Colella was executive director of sales and business development at Harvest Volatility Management. Curtis L. Brockelman Jr., managing partner, co-founder and chief risk officer, did not immediately respond to a request for information about Mr. Colello's replacement.
Arena Investors had $2.2 billion of committed capital as of Jan. 1.
