Namit Sinha has been named the chief investment officer of Angel Oak Capital Advisors, effective March 31, according to a Jan. 12 news release.
The role is new, and Sinha will be responsible for overseeing the investment management firm's public and private investment strategies. He will work alongside Sreeni Prabhu, co-CEO and Group CIO at Angel Oak.
Sinha joined the firm in 2018 from Canyon Partners. With experience in mortgage and structured credit, he most recently served as the CIO of Angel Oak's private strategies division.
"Namit will serve as an excellent CIO for Angel Oak Capital advisors and brings valuable insight from the private strategies side that will be instrumental in leading the full investment team and charting the investment landscape for 2024 and beyond," Prabhu said in the news release.
Sinha's new role was created in preparation for the planned departure of Sam Dunlap, CIO for Angel Oak's public strategies division. He will leave Angel Oak in the second half of 2024 alongside senior portfolio manager Colin McBurnette, according to the release.
Prabhu will continue as group CIO, the release added. He has held the role since 2020.
Angel Oak also announced that Clayton Triick, senior portfolio manager, will become the head of portfolio management of public strategies and report to Sinha.
Starting March 31, Triick will oversee portfolio managers and analysts who are assigned to the firm's public strategies. He will also serve as a portfolio manager for all mutual funds, exchange-traded funds and interval funds.
Angel Oak managed $16.3 billion in assets as of Dec. 31.
