James Charalambides was named partner and head of the European private credit team at Adams Street Partners, said a news release Monday.
It is a new position. The employee-owned firm with $50 billion in assets under management launched a private credit platform in 2016 that now has more than $7.6 billion in AUM. Mr. Charalambides' appointment coincides with the launch of a European platform.
He will report to Bill Sacher, partner and head of private credit, who said in the news release, "Europe is fertile ground for sponsor-backed private credit deals."
Mr. Charalambides was a managing director on Sixth Street Partners' specialty lending team. Information on his replacement was not immediately available.
