Russell Read was named chief investment officer of alternative investment firm 10X Capital.
He will report to Hans Thomas, the firm's founder and CEO, a news release said Wednesday. Mr. Read was previously co-founder and group managing partner of The C Change Group, an infrastructure investment firm. 10X Capital is also acquiring an interest in C Change Group, and John Petersen, that firm's general counsel, has replaced Mr. Read as managing partner, according to the news release.
Before founding C Change, Mr. Read served as managing director and global head of client solutions at index provider MSCI and also had stints as CIO at the $77.3 billion Alaska Permanent Fund Corp., Juneau; Gulf Investment Corp., Kuwait; and $443.2 billion California Public Employees' Retirement System, Sacramento.
