The County of Suffolk (NY), Department of Civil Service is soliciting proposals from qualified providers for plan design, implementation, administration, investment and other plan services for an Internal Revenue Code section 401 (a) Plan for terminal pay. The County intends to provide the 401(a) Plan to approximately 2,700 employees of the Suffolk County Police Department. However, the County may expand the provisions of the 401(a) Plan to other County employees in the future. The County currently employs approximately 12,000 employees. Proposed services and products must meet the requirements of section 401(a) of the Internal Revenue Code. Responses are due no later than 3:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on January 14, 2014.
