The Executive Director, reporting to the Retirement Board, with overall responsibility for a team of 180+, is the central point of responsibility and accountability across all operations, actuarial, investment management, accounting and financial, benefits administration, etc.
The ideal candidate is a leader who is mission driven with a dedication to public service and defined benefit plans. A significant portion of the Director’s responsibilities is outward facing with stakeholders and constituents, continuing to enhance SERS’ reputation and brand. An executive with strong operational and administrative experience, along with general knowledge of investments,
A Bachelor’s degree is required (advanced degree preferred). Public sector experience, working knowledge of federal and state pension laws, and executive experience working with boards are preferred.
