Investment bank and brokerage services firm BTIG and its affiliate Pacific View Asset Management have made a strategic investment in Indigena Capital, a spokeswoman for BTIG said.
The terms and nature of the deal, which has closed, were not disclosed. Indigena Capital is an investment firm that has invested more than $2 billion on behalf of indigenous nations and works to "identify, capitalize and execute upon investment opportunities that are generated from the unique rights and resources controlled by indigenous nations," according to a joint news release.
"We believe the investment strengthens our ability to deliver the capital and expertise so desperately needed in the global, indigenous emerging market," said John P. Jurrius, Indigena Capital's CEO, in the news release.
The spokeswoman referred questions to the news release and Cullen Schaar, vice president, Indigena Capital, who could not be immediately reached to provide further information.
