Mesirow adds managing director for fixed-income unit

Christopher Langs was named managing director, core fixed-income portfolio manager and credit analyst at Mesirow Financial.

The position is new, a Mesirow spokesman said.

Mr. Langs will report to Peter Hegel, managing director and head of core fixed-income management.

Mr. Langs was vice president and portfolio manager at GW&K Investment Management. A GW&K spokeswoman said his duties were assumed by others at the firm.

Mesirow had $32.7 billion in assets under management as of June 30, including $3.2 billion in core fixed income, the Mesirow spokesman said.
