David Hoantee Peng was named head of Asia-Pacific, ex-Japan at Legal & General Investment Management.
Mr. Peng’s Hong Kong-based role, which will include a focus on building relationships in mainland China, is a new one for the firm, said a Legal & General spokeswoman in an email.
Mr. Peng comes to Legal & General from Aberdeen Standard Investments, where he served through the end of March as the head of the firm’s Hong Kong office, said a spokeswoman for Aberdeen Standard Investments.
Prior to the August 2017 merger of Standard Life and Aberdeen Asset Management, Mr. Peng had served as Standard Life Investments’ head of Asia for more than seven years.
The Aberdeen Standard Investments’ spokeswoman said a search is underway for a replacement in Hong Kong.
Legal & General Investment Management had £983 billion ($1.33 trillion) in assets under management at the end of 2017.
