Westfield Contributory Retirement launches domestic small-cap value search

Westfield (Mass.) Contributory Retirement System is searching for a manager or managers to run about $9 million in an active U.S. small-cap value equity strategy for the $230 million fund.

Only commingled investment strategies will be eligible; separate accounts will not be considered.

The search is being conducted to comply with state laws regarding contract terms, said Raymond Depelteau, chief investment officer. Loomis Sayles & Co. is the current manager and is welcome to rebid.

The RFP is available via email from Lynn Rea, retirement administrator. Proposals are due by 4 p.m. EDT June 22. The board is expected to select finalists at their July meeting and finalists will be interviewed in August, Mr. Depelteau said.

The system had a target asset allocation of 47.5% to domestic equities as of Dec. 31, 2016.
