Former GSAM executive joins Neuberger Berman’s Breton Hill team

Ram Ramaswamy was named managing director, head of investment solutions for Neuberger Berman's Breton Hill team, spokesman Alexander Samuelson confirmed.

The position is new. Mr. Ramaswamy will help clients realize their investment objectives and advise them on how to best develop their portfolios. He will report to Ray Carroll, chief investment officer of Neuberger Berman Breton Hill.

Mr. Ramaswamy was vice president of the alternative investments and manager selection team at Goldman Sachs Asset Management. It could not be learned whether he was replaced; Goldman Sachs spokesman Andrew Williams could not be immediately reached for comment.

It was announced in September that Neuberger Berman had acquired Breton Hill Capital, a Toronto-based quantitative money manager with $2 billion in assets under management. There are currently 15 investment professionals on the team.

Neuberger Berman managed $284 billion in assets as of Sept. 30.
