Colorado Fire & Police allocates $30 million to arbitrage hedge fund

Colorado Fire & Police Pension Association, Greenwood Village, invested $30 million in Hudson Bay Cap Structure Arbitrage Enhanced Fund, a hedge fund managed by Hudson Bay Capital Management, said Scott Simon, chief investment officer of the $4.5 billion pension fund, in an email.

The pension fund "will participate in a carve-out of the firm's event-oriented capital structure arbitrage focused on North American corporate convertible debt," Mr. Simon said.

The pension fund has a 10% absolute return target allocation.
