Columbia University, New York, reported its endowment produced a 13.7% return for the fiscal year ended June 30.
The endowment's assets as of June 30 were about $10 billion, Robert Hornsby, a university spokesman wrote in an email Tuesday. That is up from $9 billion a year earlier. Mr. Hornsby didn't provide details on the asset class performance or asset allocation. The university did not specify whether the returns were net of fees.
For the fiscal year ended June 30, 2016, the endowment reported assets of $9 billion.
The university's annualized trailing five- and 10-year returns are 9.7% and 7.3%, respectively, Mr. Hornsby wrote in the email. The university's return for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2016 was -0.9%, net of fees.
