Torchmark Corp., McKinney, Texas, hired Empower Retirement as record keeper of its 401(k) plan, the company announced in an 8-K filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Oct. 6.
Empower will replace Voya Retirement Services effective Nov. 1. A blackout period for participants will begin at 3 p.m. CDT on Oct. 24 and will end during the week of Nov. 12.
A reason for the change was not given.
As of Dec. 31, the Torchmark Corp. Savings and Investment Plan had $176 million in assets, according to the company's most recent 11-K filing.
