Louisiana Teachers assigns $125 million to 2 funds

Louisiana Teachers' Retirement System, Baton Rouge, made two new commitments totaling up to $125 million, said Dana Brown, director of public markets.

The $18.7 billion pension fund committed up to $75 million to Ascribe Opportunities Fund IV, a distressed debt fund managed by Ascribe Capital. The pension fund previously committed $75 million to American Securities Opportunities Fund III in 2013. American Securities Opportunities Management changed its name to Ascribe Capital in 2015.

Also, the pension fund committed up to $50 million to EnCap Flatrock Midstream Fund IV, a natural resources funds. The pension fund previously committed up to $75 million to oil and gas fund EnCap Energy Capital Fund XI in February.
