Northern Trust taps Wellington veteran to lead Japan asset management business

Keishi Yamamoto joined Northern Trust Asset Management in Tokyo as president and representative director of the firm's asset management business in Japan, the company announced Tuesday.

Mr. Yamamoto replaces Hidehiro Nakayama. A Northern Trust news release said Mr. Nakayama will serve as chairman and director until his retirement later this year.

Mr. Yamamoto comes to Northern Trust from Wellington Management Japan, where he served as director of the firm's Japan pension group.

A Wellington spokesman couldn't immediately be reached for comment.

Northern Trust Asset Management has $1 trillion in assets under management.
