Texas Employees commits to 3 private equity investments

Texas Employees' Retirement System, Austin, committed a total of $149 million to three private equity funds, a transaction report showed.

The largest allocation by the $27 billion pension fund in the August report was $100 million to Carlyle Global Financial Services Partners III, a North American buyout fund managed by the Carlyle Group.

Investment staff also committed $25 million to North American buyout fund Blue Wolf Capital Fund IV, run by Blue Wolf Capital Partners. In April 2016, the fund committed $5 million to a Blue Wolf Capital North American co-investment fund.

The third commitment was €20 million ($24 million) to a co-investment fund. Texas ERS does not identify the managers or strategy focus of co-investment commitments in its transaction reports.
