Unisys appoints treasurer to oversee global retirement plans

Shalabh Gupta was named vice president and treasurer of Unisys Corp., Blue Bell, Pa., spokesman Tony Buglione said.

He succeeds Scott A. Battersby, who is leaving the company. Mr. Buglione did not say where Mr. Battersby was going.

Mr. Gupta will oversee the company's treasury and tax functions, including global oversight of defined benefit and defined contribution plans. He will report to Inder M. Singh, senior vice president and chief financial officer.

Mr. Gupta was vice president and corporate treasurer for Avon Products. It could not be learned by press time if he was replaced; a spokesman for Avon could not be immediately reached for comment.

Unisys' pension funds had $5.88 billion in total assets, including $3.45 billion in U.S. plan assets, and $1.25 billion in DC assets as of Dec. 31, according to 10-K and 11-K filings.
