Missouri school systems on lookout for investment consultant

Missouri Public School and Education Employee Retirement Systems, Jefferson City, is searching for a general investment consultant, according to an RFP on the pension funds' website.

The retirement systems, which have combined assets of $40.4 billion, issued the RFP for a non-discretionary general investment consultant to advise on the majority of the pension funds' portfolio, with only limited responsibilities for private assets and hedged assets, which account for 29% of the total portfolio and have their own specialty consultants. According to supplements to the RFP, the current consultant, Willis Towers Watson, is invited to rebid.

Proposals are due at 5 p.m. CDT on Aug. 11. A timeline for a decision was not provided.

The RFP is available on the retirement systems' website.

Craig Husting, chief investment officer, and Jennifer Martin, executive assistant, investments, could not be immediately reached to provide further information.
