The $27 billion Texas County & District Retirement System, Austin, committed €50 million ($58.5 million) to Waterland Private Equity Fund VII, a transaction report showed.
The fund is managed by Waterland Private Equity Investments, Bussum, Netherlands. Portfolio managers there will seek to provide portfolio companies with the means to accelerate their growth organically and through acquisitions. The fund's geographic focus is in seven northern European countries: Austria, Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland and Switzerland.
In April 2015, TCDRS committed $37.8 million to WPEF VI and $11 million to the fund's companion co-investment vehicle, WPEF VI Overflow Fund.
The most recent Waterland commitment is TCDRS' 12th from its private equity portfolio so far this year for a total of $631 million.
