Berenberg hires chief strategist, head of multiasset for money management unit

Bernd Meyer was named chief strategist and head of multiasset for the wealth and asset management division at Berenberg, said a spokesman.

The position is new. Starting Oct. 1, Mr. Meyer will develop multiasset solutions and head up multiasset portfolio management.

"We are delighted to have hired an internationally respected expert for equity and asset allocation. Not only does (Mr. Meyer) have 20 years of professional experience as a market strategist, he has also been involved in empirical capital market research for more than 25 years," Henning Gebhardt, head of wealth and asset management at Berenberg, said in a news release.

Mr. Meyer will join from Commerzbank, where worked as a multiasset strategist.

Berenberg has €40 billion ($45 billion) in assets under management.
