Pharmaceutical Product Development adds 2 investment options to 401(k) plan

Pharmaceutical Product Development LLC, Wilmington, N.C., added two investment options managed by Hartford Funds and MFS Investment Management to its 401(k) plan, according to a posting on the plan's website.

The company added the Hartford International Opportunities Fund, an active international large-cap equity option, and the MFS Midcap Value Fund, an active domestic midcap value equity option, to the lineup effective July 3.

They replace the MFS Research International Fund and Invesco (IVZ) American Value Fund, respectively, from which participants were mapped on the effective date.

The reason for the changes was not provided.

As of Dec. 31, 2015, the Pharmaceutical Product Development LLC Retirement Savings Plan had $526 million in assets, according to the company's most recent Form 5500 filing. MassMutual Financial is the plan's record keeper.

Company spokesman Randy Buckwalter could not be immediately reached to provide further information.
