Pensioenfonds KBC chooses new chief investment officer

Luc Vanbriel was appointed chief investment officer at Pensioenfonds KBC, Brussels, said a spokesman for KBC Group.

Mr. Vanbriel will replace pension fund director Edwin Meysmans, who will retire Nov. 1. Mr. Vanbriel will be responsible for the management of assets of the €1.6 billion ($1.8 billion) pension fund for KBC Group employees.

Mr. Vanbriel is head of structured products and money market funds at KBC Asset Management, part of KBC Group. The spokesman could not provide further details on any replacement by press time.

Mr. Meysmans will remain an independent pension fund trustee on the board of a number of pension funds, he said.
