Benjamin Huxen II was named executive director/general counsel of the $1.9 billion Louisiana Municipal Police Employees Retirement System, Baton Rouge, said Kathy Bourque, director.
Mr. Huxen, currently an attorney with the Louisiana Senate, begins in the newly created position on July 1.
Mr. Huxen will not be an investment official, but will oversee the overall pension fund, Ms. Bourque said.
Kelli Rogers, who held the title of chief financial officer at the pension fund from March 2014 until she resigned in May 2015, was the pension fund's most recent top investment officer. That position was never filled.
NEPC is the pension fund's investment consultant.
