Putnam Investments appoints head of sustainable investing

Katherine Collins was named head of sustainable investing at Putnam Investments, spokesman Jon Goldstein confirmed.

The position is new. Ms. Collins is responsible for overseeing the firm’s environmental, social and governance investment approach, which is expected to include managing focused strategies for institutional clients. She reports to Aaron Cooper, chief investment officer, equities.

Ms. Collins was CEO of Honeybee Capital, a research firm focused on ESG investment issues. Ms. Collins will not be replaced; she confirmed she will continue the investment work at the firm.

Putnam had $160 billion in assets under management as of March 31.
