Aviva names head of infrastructure debt

Darryl Murphy joined Aviva Investors' alternative income solutions team as head of infrastructure debt.

Mr. Murphy, who started Monday, leads a team of 20 infrastructure debt professionals, said a news release. Whether the position is new could not be learned by press time.

He oversees the origination, structuring, execution and asset management of infrastructure debt deals.

Mr. Murphy was a U.K. corporate finance partner at KPMG. A spokeswoman for the firm said he has not yet been replaced.

The firm also hired Sarah Wall as senior portfolio manager, alternative income solutions. She will start next month and will also be a manager for the recently launched Aviva Investors Alternative Income Solutions Fund.

They both report to Barry Fowler, managing director, alternative income solutions.

The alternative income solutions unit covers infrastructure debt, unlevered infrastructure, private corporate debt, real estate finance, real estate long income and structured finance, across sterling and euro assets. It has £21 billion ($26.3 billion) in assets under management. Infrastructure debt assets under management are £4 billion.

Ms. Wall was portfolio manager-illiquid credit at the Pension Protection Fund, London. It could not be learned whether she was replaced.

Spokesmen for Aviva Investors and the PPF were not available to comment by press time.
