Ohio Police & Fire sets $50 million for John Hancock real estate fund

Ohio Police & Fire Pension Fund, Columbus, committed up to $50 million to John Hancock U.S. Real Estate Fund, an open-end core-plus real estate fund managed by John Hancock Investments, said David Graham, spokesman, in an email.

It is the $14.8 billion pension fund's first of three real estate commitments in 2017. The pension fund, which does not issue RFPs, plans commitments totaling $120 million to $170 million during this calendar year. The real estate target is 12%; the actual allocation is 10.6%, Mr. Graham said.
