Standard Life Investments’ head of equities departs

David Cumming, head of equities at Standard Life Investments, left the firm, confirmed spokeswoman Rosalind Gould in an email. She had no information on his plans.

Stan Pearson, head of European equities, has assumed the role of acting head of equities, while Andrew Millington, director of equity research, is now acting head of U.K. equities. Both will continue to manage their respective funds.

This move follows an announcement Monday that Standard Life and Aberdeen Asset Management have agreed to merge.

Standard life Investments had £277.9 billion ($341.6 billion) in assets under management as of Dec. 31.
