Eric Lhomond was named chief structuring officer at Apollo Asset Management Europe, according to two sources.
Mr. Lhomond will help to develop new credit strategies for financial institutions, said one sourcefamiliar with the hire. Further details about the position could not be learned by press time.
Alternative investment manager Apollo Global Management has been building out its London-based entity Apollo Asset Management Europe, according to a transcript of the firm's second-quarter earnings call Aug. 3.
Martin Kelly, chief financial officer at Apollo Global Management, said AAME is “a centralized investment and risk management capability for regulated balance sheets in Europe, including certain of the insurance and banking platforms already owned by the funds we manage.”
A spokesman for Apollo declined to comment.
Mr. Lhomond was global head of the alternative solutions team at AXA Investment Managers. The firm announced his departure in October at the same time the firm announced it had merged its alternative solutions and structured finance teams to create a single global alternative credit platform.
