Deutsche taps U.S. equity strategist to dual role within asset management unit

David Bianco was named chief investment strategist for the Americas and head of equities in the U.S. at Deutsche Asset Management, spokeswoman Oksana Poltavets said.

The chief investment strategist position is new; for the head of equities role, Mr. Bianco replaces Owen Fitzpatrick, who left the company to become lead portfolio manager at Aristotle Atlantic Partners.

Mr. Bianco will help assist clients with portfolio construction across Deutsche AM's investment strategies and asset classes. He will also lead a team of investors responsible for managing the active equity assets in the Americas.

He will be based in New York and report globally to Stefan Kreuzkamp, chief investment officer and head of active asset management, and regionally to Robert Kendall, head of Deutsche AM, Americas.

Mr. Bianco was Deutsche Bank's U.S. equity strategist. Binky Chadha will assume the U.S. equity strategy role in addition to his global asset allocation coverage.

Deutsche Asset Management had €715 billion ($747 billion) in assets under management as of Sept. 30.
