Jonathan Hausman was named managing director and head of global strategic relationships at the C$171.4 billion ($126.7 billion) Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, Toronto, effective Jan. 1.

The position is new, and Mr. Hausman will lead the pension fund’s new global strategic relationships department, which will be responsible for “developing and cultivating mutually beneficial investment relationships around the world,” according to a news release.

Bjarne Graven Larsen, OTPP chief investment officer, said in the news release that Mr. Hausman’s new department will be “working across our asset classes and supporting our teams in all regions globally to strengthen existing relationships and build new ones.”

Mr. Hausman is vice president, alternative investments and global tactical asset allocation in Ontario Teachers’ capital markets group, responsible for OTPP’s global hedge fund portfolio, as well as its internal global macro and systematic trading strategies.
