Twenty-six plan sponsors and 19 service providers won Eddy Awards, Pensions & Investments' annual awards identifying and rewarding the best practices in providing investment education to defined contribution plan participants, it was announced at P&I's DC East 2014 conference in Miami on Monday.
Plan sponsor first-place winners for education in the conversion of DC plans are DENSO Corp., Hennepin Healthcare Systems and Carolinas HealthCare System. First-place service provider winners are Putnam Investments, MassMutual Retirement Services and J.P. Morgan Retirement Plan Services.
Plan sponsor first-place winners for special projects are Churchill Downs Inc., Red Bull, Employee Retirement System of Texas, Beacon Health System and International Union of Operating Engineers Local 4. Service provider special project first-place winners are MassMutual Retirement Services, which took first in two special project categories, OneAmerica, Great-West Financial, ING and Lincoln Financial Group.
Plan sponsor first-place winners for ongoing investment education are PACCAR Inc., Mission Linen Supply Co. and New York State Deferred Compensation Plan. Service provider first-place winners are Vanguard Group, which took first in two ongoing investment education categories, Putnam Investments, Prudential Retirement, GuidedChoice and Mercer.
The plan sponsor first-place winners for retirement readiness are Essentia Health and Cox Enterprises Inc, and the service provider winners are Financial Finesse and ICMA-RC.
Service provider Boulevard R won first place in the mobile apps category, Vanguard won first place in the fee disclosure and education category, and J.P. Morgan Retirement Plan Services received honorable mention in the automatic re-enrollment category.
