Hyesik Ryu joined M&G Real Estate as managing director of the firm's Seoul office.
It is a new position.
Mr. Ryu will lead the firm's “deal sourcing capabilities in South Korea” for its Asia property strategy, according to a news release.
As of Sept. 30, the strategy consisted of a portfolio of seven assets across South Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia, valued at $1.34 billion as of Sept. 30, confirmed a spokesman.
Mr. Ryu will report to Scott Girard, the Singapore-based CEO of M&G Real Estate Asia.
Mr. Ryu was a director, managing “project financing, loan structuring and the acquisition of real estate assets” at Hyundai Securities, according to the news release.
A Hyundai Securities spokesman said Mr. Ryu's position is in the process of being filled.
