Black River Asset Management adds consultant relations leader

Christopher Miller joined Black River Asset Management on Monday as managing director and global head of consultant relations.

The position is new; Mr. Miller is responsible for further developing Black River's existing relationships with investment consultants, James Gruver, senior managing director and global head of investor relations, said in an e-mailed response to questions.

Mr. Miller was most recently senior vice president and head of consultant relations at Hartford Investment Management Co. His duties were assumed by Erica Evans, executive vice president and head of sales and marketing, said Julia Zweig, a HIMCO spokeswoman, in an e-mail.

Black River is a wholly owned investment management subsidiary of Cargill Inc. and managed $6.5 billion in net, discretionary assets as of May 31 in private equity and hedge funds, according to the firm's most recent SEC ADV filing.
