New York State Common commits to 2 European private equity funds

New York State Common Retirement Fund, Albany, committed €250 million ($329.4 million) to CVC European Equity Partners VI, managed by CVC Capital Partners, confirmed Eric Sumberg, a spokesman for Thomas DiNapoli, the New York state comptroller and sole trustee of the $158.7 billion pension fund.

The pension fund previously committed €150 million to CVC European Equity Partners V in June 2008.

Separately, the pension fund committed €15 million to Invision V, managed by Invision Private Equity. The commitment was made through the Access/NY European Middle Market Buyout Fund II, a separate account run by Access Capital Partners, a fund of funds that focuses on opportunities in Europe.

The pension fund also added $210 million to Progress Investment Management's manager of emerging managers portfolio, bringing the total of the portfolio to $1.4 billion.
