London equity boutique adds North American marketing and client services head

Betsy Palmer was named head of North American marketing and client services at London-based equity boutique Lindsell Train, Ms. Palmer confirmed.

It is a new position. Ms. Palmer, based in Boston, is the first Lindsell Train employee in the U.S., and she will focus on marketing to institutional investors, mainly foundations and endowments, in North America. Ms. Palmer reports to Jane Orr, director of client service and marketing.

“I was eager to join a small, entrepreneurial company,” Ms. Palmer said in a telephone interview.

Ms. Palmer was most recently senior managing director of global product management and marketing at MFS Investment Management. She said the position was eliminated about a year ago.

Lindsell Train manages more than $4 billion in global, Japanese and U.K. equities for institutional clients.
