CalSTRS names first COO

Cassandra Lichnock was named chief operating officer at CalSTRS, a new position, confirmed spokesman Ricardo Duran.
Ms. Lichnock was previously director of human resources at the $161.4 billion California State Teachers’ Retirement System, West Sacramento. The pension fund will search for a replacement, Mr. Duran wrote in an e-mail.
Ms. Lichnock will oversee benefits and services, human resources, plan design and communication, technology services and organization-wide business procedure systems integration.
