Maine Public Employees makes $270 million in fresh commitments to alternatives

Maine Public Employees' Retirement System, Augusta, made three commitments totaling up to $270 million, confirmed Andrew Sawyer, chief investment officer.

The $11.2 billion pension fund committed up to $150 million to real estate fund Stockbridge Smart Markets Fund, managed by Stockbridge Capital Group, and up to $60 million each to buyout fund Riverside Capital Appreciation Fund VI, managed by Riverside Co., and venture capital fund TCV VIII, managed by Technology Crossover Ventures.

All are first-time commitments.
