El Paso County, Colo., rounds up Vontobel for international equity

El Paso County Retirement Plan, Colorado Springs, Colo., hired Vontobel Asset Management to run 10% of assets, or about $28 million, in active international equity, confirmed Tom Pfeifle, executive director of the $279 million pension fund.
Funding comes from reducing the Vanguard FTSE All-World ex-U.S. index fund to 5% of plan assets from 15%. Mr. Pfeifle said the hire was made to add more active management and diversification to the pension fund’s portfolio.
