Textron chooses new CIO

Charles Van Vleet was named chief investment officer and assistant treasurer at Textron Inc., Providence, R.I., effective Feb. 25, confirmed company spokesman David Sylvestre.
Mr. Van Vleet replaces Deborah Imondi, who retired in January.
Mr. Van Vleet will oversee the company's U.S., Canada and U.K. retirement plans with a combined $8 billion in assets. He will report to Mary Lovejoy, vice president and treasurer.
Mr. Van Vleet previously was director, pension investments, at United Technologies Corp., Hartford, Conn., where he handled investments for defined benefit and 401(k) plans with a total of $40.7 billion in assets. Gail Ogden, manager, treasury, did not immediately return a telephone call for information on his replacement.
