Harvey Partners adds client service leader

John P. Boles joined smidcap equity hedge fund manager Harvey Partners as director and the company's first head of client service and business development, confirmed Alanna Weiss, a company spokeswoman.

Mr. Boles previously was a partner and managing director-client service and business development at Attalus Capital.

Attalus Capital moved out of the hedge funds-of-funds business and into managing single-strategy hedge funds last year. Patrick C. Egan, Attalus' founder, president and chief investment officer, said Mr. Boles' departure was related to the change in investment focus; Mr. Boles' marketing responsibilities had been for hedge funds of funds with a focus on Taft-Hartley plans.

Harvey Partners manages about $300 million in small- and midcap equity hedge funds.
