Asghar Alam was named senior consultant at Towers Watson, confirmed spokesman Paul Deane-Williams.
It is a new position. Mr. Alam began his New York-based position on Jan. 21 and works with both the investment consulting and retirement practices, according to Mr. Deane-Williams.
Mr. Alam was previously senior partner and global head of investment consulting at Mercer. He retired from the firm in January 2012 following a reorganization of the firm's investment consulting and investment management businesses, according to spokesman Charles Salmans. There was no replacement.
