U.S. construction spending grows 9.1% in 2012

On Friday, the Commerce Department said total U.S. construction spending rose 0.92% in December, to an annual rate of $884.98 billion. For the year, construction spending was up 9.1% - driven largely by residential construction - which rose more than 22% in 2012.
